Security Guard Killed in Robbery at 1D1F Factory in Gomoa Akotsi

A 65-year-old security guard, Kwabena Boateng, has lost his life in a tragic incident during a robbery at the De-Bridge One District One Factory (1D1F) facility in Gomoa Akotsi, Central Region.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, when the guard attempted to prevent a group of suspected robbers from stealing electricity transformers.

According to reports, the robbers tied the guard’s hands and legs with rope and suffocated him using a polythene bag. After killing the guard, the robbers dismantled and stole two ECG transformers and several electrical cables belonging to the factory.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing to the public for information that could help in apprehending the suspects.
