Rural Midwife Shines:Helen Dzameshie Wins Top Award for Exceptional Service.

Mrs. Helen Dzameshie, a dedicated midwife, has been recognized for her selfless service in rural communities.

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association awarded her the Best/Winner of the Rural Service Award for the Eastern Region.

Mrs. Dzameshie’s commitment to her work is exemplified by her actions. In June 2025, while on annual leave, she received a call for help from Sekesua, where a pregnant woman was in labor and unable to reach the health facility due to poor road conditions.

With courage and compassion, Mrs. Dzameshie assisted with the delivery on the farm path, ensuring the safe arrival of the baby and the mother’s well-being.

Mrs. Dzameshie’s story is an inspiration to all professionals, especially those in the healthcare sector. It shows that regardless of where you find yourself, you can shine and make a difference in the lives of others.

Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to her work are qualities that we should all strive to emulate.

As Mrs. Dzameshie said, “May God continue to bless you abundantly.” Her story is a blessing to many, and it encourages others to work tirelessly and take their profession seriously, knowing that their efforts can have a profound impact on the lives of others.

Her award was presented by Mrs. Ruth Aku Gyang, a renowned midwife, who traveled from Australia for the ceremony.

The event was attended by the Eastern Regional Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Mrs. Zenabu Addo, and other dignitaries.

Mrs. Dzameshie expressed her gratitude to God, her colleagues, and the community for their support.

She dedicated the award to her team and the people of Sekesua, acknowledging their role in her success.
