Rev. Sister Olivia Umoh Addresses Kumasi Deanery Youths on Human Trafficking and Child Protection
Kumasi, Ghana – Rev. Sister Olivia Umoh, a renowned advocate for children’s rights and protection, has called on young people to be vigilant and proactive in preventing human trafficking and safeguarding children.
Speaking at a talk organized by the Kumasi Deanery Youths at the Marist Brothers School, Buokrom, Rev. Sister Umoh emphasized the importance of protecting children from abuse, exploitation, and trafficking.
She highlighted the alarming rate of human trafficking in Ghana and the need for communities to work together to prevent it.
“Human trafficking is a grave violation of human rights, and it’s our collective responsibility to protect our children,” Rev. Sister Umoh said.
“We must educate ourselves and others on the signs of trafficking, and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.”
Rev. Sister Umoh also stressed the importance of safeguarding children and creating a safe environment for them to grow and develop.
She urged the youths to be role models and champions of child protection, and to speak out against any form of abuse or exploitation.
The talk was attended by students, teachers, and community leaders, who engaged in a lively question-and-answer session and pledged to take action to protect children and prevent human trafficking.
The event was part of the Kumasi Deanery Youths’ ongoing efforts to raise awareness on social issues affecting the community, and to promote a culture of respect, dignity, and protection for all, especially children.
