PTA Chairman Urges Parents to Monitor Children’s Social Media Activities.

Mr. Patrick Kwabena Amofah, PTA Chairman of Blessed Trinity Leadership Academy in Akokoammong, Ejusu Municipality, has called on parents to provide proper guidance and oversight to their children, particularly in their use of social media.

Speaking at the school’s 7th graduation ceremony, Mr. Amofah emphasized the importance of parental involvement in shaping children’s values and behaviors in the digital age.

While acknowledging the benefits of social media as a learning tool, Mr. Amofah warned that unsupervised use can lead to negative consequences, including exposure to fraud, scamming, and other online threats.

He urged parents to be proactive in monitoring their children’s online activities and teaching them to use social media responsibly.

“If parents fail to monitor their children’s activities, it ends up leading them to the negative aspects of social media, including fraud, scamming, and all other negativities that violate the norms of the nation,” Mr. Amofah cautioned.

Mr. Amofah appeal highlights the need for parents to be actively engaged in their children’s lives, ensuring they are equipped to navigate the challenges of the digital world.

By providing proper training and guidance, parents can help their children harness the benefits of social media while minimizing its risks.
