Police Crackdown on QNET Scammers in Effutu

The Winneba Divisional Police Headquarters in the Central Region has arrested over 54 suspected QNET workers for allegedly operating a fraudulent job recruitment scheme.

The suspects, including 15 Nigerian nationals and 54 Ghanaians, were posing as representatives of “Independent Distributor of Neo Life Company Limited” and promising job opportunities to unsuspecting victims.

According to reports, the suspects distributed cards advertising job opportunities and invited victims to a mass orientation at Nkoom Baby’s Plaza in Winneba.

However, upon further investigation, the police discovered that the group’s claims were likely fraudulent. One victim revealed, “We were all assembled at Nkoom Baby’s Plaza for mass orientation and we saw the presence of the police.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police, George Kwainoof, Crime Investigation Officer at the Winneba Police Division, confirmed the arrest of the suspects.

He stated that the investigation revealed that the group’s leader, Oladokum Kehinde, and six other members were operating without permits. The suspects are currently being held at the police station for further investigation.

The police cautioned the public to be vigilant and wary of such schemes. Citizens are advised to verify the authenticity of job opportunities and companies before investing their time and resources. The police will continue to crack down on such fraudulent activities to protect the public.
