ONE DEAD AS GNFS SWIFTLY RESPONDS TO DOMESTIC FIRE AT ASSIN FOSO.

In a distressing incident that happened yesterday, the 8th January 2026, at 0632 hours at Mempeasem near the Railway Station Quarters in Assin Foso, a fire engulfed a kitchen with a store room,spread to a Renault Duster Salon car and a wooden kiosk.

Tragically burning to death a man in his thirties who was identified as Kwabena Effutu.

The expired body was handed over to Police for onward transportation to St. Francis Xavier Morgue.

With the timely arrival and efficient coordination, the fierce fire was brought under control and finally extinguished at 0640 hours, averting a potential spread of fire to nearby structures.

With the effort of the crew, the kitchen and it content and the Renault Duster Salon car were salvaged from total ruins of fire.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
