Obuasi: Prison Officer Found Dead In Pompo River
Prison Officer by name Constable Clement Tei Gyabah, popularly known as “Biggie” by local residents who works with Ghana Prison Service, Obuasi Command, in his late thirties met his untimely death as he was found dead in River Pompo here in Pomposo, an area within Obuasi East Municipal of Ashanti Region.
Most eyewitnesses in their opinions made claims that, the officer was on his motorcycle at dawn from Asonkore while it was drizzling around 5am today reporting to work and mistakenly ride off road, hitting the motorcycle on the concrete barricade which serves as barrier between the River Pompo, pedestrians and vehicle safety.
Others also suspect foul play hence stating a vehicle might have hit him, which as a result summersaulted him into the river due to the deep lacerations found at the frontal part of the head.
The Ghana Police Service together with rescue team and other individuals assisted in retrieving the body and motorcycle of the Officer from the River.
The body was then conveyed to the morgue pending autopsy.
