OBUASI DIOCESE MOURNS DEATH OF RESPECTED PRIEST, FR. STEPHEN OPOKU-BOAHENG

 

Obuasi, Ghana – The Catholic Diocese of Obuasi is mourning the loss of Rev. Fr. Stephen Opoku-Boaheng, affectionately known as NANA NKOSOC, who passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at HopeXchange Medical Center in Kumasi after a brief illness.

He was 69 years old and had served as a priest for 40 years.

According to a funeral announcement from the Office of the Vicar General, signed by V. Rev. Fr. George Owoahene Acheampong Marfo, a Mass will be held in honor of the late priest on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 8 am at St. Joseph’s Rectorate, Kromoase.

Fr. Opoku-Boaheng was born on March 5, 1956, in Akokofe and was ordained a priest on July 27, 1985.

The Diocese invites all priests, religious, and lay faithful to join in celebrating the life of the late Rev. Fr. Stephen Opoku-Boaheng.

The Catholic Diocese of Obuasi extends its condolences to the bereaved family and asks for prayers for the peaceful repose of Fr. Opoku-Boaheng’s soul.
