The people of Anyinam in Obuasi have finally installed a new chief, Nana Okyere Amoabeng II, after a 12-year vacancy. The new chief was enskinned by the family head, Nana Kwamoah Bosompem, and has pledged to drive development in the town.

Nana Okyere Amoabeng II attributed the town’s stagnation to the prolonged chiefless period, citing limited access to job opportunities at the nearby AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi mine. Despite this, he contributed to the town’s development by helping establish a community center.
