New Leadership Takes the Helm at GHANCYC: A Call to Serve with Faith
The Ghana National Catholic Youth Council (GHANCYC) has elected a new national executive team at the Centre for Pastoral Formation in Tamale on September 6, 2025.
Mathew Adda from the Navrongo/Bolgatanga Diocese has been elected Chairman, while Asamoah Twumasi Vondee from the Goaso Diocese and Rhoda from the Accra Archdiocese have taken up the positions of Vice Chairman and Treasurer, respectively.
Very Rev. Fr. James Bour-Mensah, National Youth Chaplain, has congratulated the new leadership team and urged them to remain open to God’s direction.
He reminded them that their mandate is ultimately for the greater growth of the Council and the mission of the Church.
The election was part of the GHANCYC’s activities during the year’s Annual General Conference of Major Superiors (AGCM), held under the theme: “Jubilee Year: A Time to Proclaim Christ, Hope for the Church and Ghana.”
The conference drew delegates from dioceses and vicariates across Ghana.
Established in 1974 by the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, GHANCYC serves as the official mouthpiece of Catholic youth in Ghana.
The Council is mandated to coordinate, train, evaluate, and promote the growth and development of Catholic youth in faith and service.
We wish the new leadership team success in their endeavors and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on the lives of young people in Ghana.
