NDC Flagbearer Race Tightens: Asiedu Nketia Lead Cut to 10 Points as 24% Remain Undecided
A new poll by Global InfoAnalytics points to a tightening contest for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer slot ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Released by Executive Director Mussa Dankwah on Monday, April 13, 2026, the survey shows Johnson Asiedu Nketia still leads in a “top-of-the-mind” baseline assessment of potential candidates. His advantage has narrowed, however, with the gap falling from 16 percentage points in Week 1 to 10 points in Week 2.

In the latest results, Asiedu Nketia polled 29%. He is followed by Cassiel Ato Forson with 19% and Haruna Iddrisu with 11%. Julius Debrah and Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang each recorded 8%.
The poll also found 24% of respondents undecided, down from 36% in Week 1, when Asiedu Nketia was at 28%. The shift suggests other contenders are consolidating support as the field remains fluid.

Global InfoAnalytics noted lingering uncertainty over who will ultimately enter the race, but the data indicate growing competition despite Asiedu Nketia’s frontrunner status.
