NACOC, FDA Shut Down Illegal Cannabis Liqueur Factory in Offinso
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) have jointly shut down an illegal cannabis-infused liqueur factory in Ntiribuoho, Offinso Municipality, Ashanti Region.
The factory, hidden inside a two-bedroom structure on a poultry farm, was producing a cannabis-laced alcoholic beverage known as Famude or Kings Orange Flavoured Liqueur. Authorities described the setup as carefully concealed to avoid detection.
NACOC and FDA officials raided the hideout, uncovering the illicit operation.
The agencies are currently investigating the matter and working to identify those involved in the production and distribution of the cannabis-infused liqueur.
The joint operation highlights the commitment of NACOC and FDA to combating the production and distribution of illicit substances in Ghana.
The agencies will continue to work together to protect public health and safety.
