Mugabe Saifu Maase Joins Tema Oil Refinery Board

 

Mugabe Saifu Maase, a broadcast journalist and General Manager of Power FM, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR).

The appointment was announced during the inauguration of the new TOR board by Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.

Maase is a well-known pro-NDC broadcaster and a vocal political commentator. As General Manager of Power FM, he has been a prominent supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), advocating for the party’s policies and critiquing opposing views.

The Minister urged the newly constituted board to prioritize restoring the refinery to full operational capacity, emphasizing that TOR is a vital national asset critical to Ghana’s energy security.

The board members, including Maase, were tasked with reviving the once-vibrant state-owned refinery.

The newly appointed board members include:

– Hon. Nayon Bilijo – Chairperson

– Edmond Biribia Kombat, Esq. – Acting Managing Director

– Thomas Martey Laari – Member

– Robert Kempes Ofosuhene – Member

– Hon. Dr. Sebastian N. Sandaare – Member

– Mugabe Saifu Maase – Member

– Hon. Mohammed Issah Bataglia – Member

– Osabarima Kyei Osafo Kantanka – Member.

The Board Chairperson, Hon. Nayon Bilijo, affirmed the team’s commitment to reviving TOR, stating that they will work with urgency and dedication to make the refinery a viable and efficient institution once more.
