Mobile Money Vendor Attacked in Kobreso, Survives Serious Injuries
A disturbing incident occurred at Kobreso in the Offinso North Municipality, where Randy Essandoh, a Mobile Money vendor and nurse at Kobreso Health Centre, was attacked by unknown assailants at his Momo shop around 8:30 pm.
Essandoh survived serious injuries and is currently receiving emergency treatment at Nkenkaasu Government Hospital.
This incident highlights the growing concerns over the safety of MoMo vendors in Ghana, who are frequently targeted by robbers due to the cash-intensive nature of their businesses.
In recent months, there have been several reported cases of MoMo vendors being attacked, robbed, and even killed by armed robbers.
The Ghana Police Service has not yet arrested suspects in connection with these incidents, but the frequency of such attacks raises concerns about the safety and security of MoMo vendors.
The authorities are urged to intensify efforts to combat violent crimes and ensure the protection of citizens, particularly vulnerable business operators like MoMo vendors.
