Minority Slams Sam George Over DSTV Impasse, Demands Apology and Resignation

The Minority in Parliament has criticized Communications Minister Sam Nartey George over his handling of negotiations with MultiChoice Ghana regarding DSTV subscription fees.

According to Charles Owiredu, Deputy Ranking Member on the Information and Communications Committee, the Minister’s approach was tactless and led to an embarrassing defeat for the country.

The Minority is upset that the Minister failed to deliver on his promise to secure a 30% reduction in DSTV subscription fees from MultiChoice.

This failure has led to calls for the Minister’s resignation and an unqualified apology to Ghanaians.

The Minority’s criticism of Minister George’s handling of the negotiations suggests a lack of confidence in his ability to effectively manage the country’s communications sector.

The caucus believes that the Minister’s actions have embarrassed the country and damaged investor confidence in Ghana’s communications and digital innovation sector.

The Minority has vowed to sustain pressure on the government until Minister Sam George resigns or is removed from office.

The controversy surrounding the Minister’s handling of the DSTV impasse continues to unfold, with many Ghanaians calling for greater accountability and transparency in government dealings.
