Mahama Supports Helicopter Crash Responders with ¢100,000 and Job Opportunities
H.E President John Dramani Mahama has extended financial and employment support to the heroic youth of Sikaman Brofoyedru who played a key role in responding to the recent helicopter crash.
H.E Mahama, represented by the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, presented ¢100,000 to the responders in recognition of their bravery and sacrifices in retrieving the remains of the victims.
“As a party and as a government in waiting, we cannot overlook the sacrifices of these gallant young men,” Mr. Asiedu Nketia said. “On behalf of President Mahama, I present this ¢100,000 and also assure you of job opportunities for the yeoman’s job you have done.”
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, also lauded the responders, describing their efforts as exceptional.
“You have shown courage and a spirit of sacrifice that must be celebrated. What you did was not just for your community but for the nation,” he stated.
Representing the Adansihene, Nana Omono Asamoah Agyei II, Chief of Adokwai, expressed gratitude to the delegation for acknowledging the community’s role.
“We thank the regional and national leadership for this recognition. The people of Sikaman Brofoyedru have indeed proven their dedication in times of tragedy,” he said.
The chief further appealed for urgent infrastructural development in the area.
“We also urge government to expedite the completion of major roads and projects within the Adansi enclave. Development here will not only honor our sacrifices but also improve lives,” he added.
The gesture from the former president has been widely praised by residents as a timely recognition of the courage and sacrifices of the community’s youth.
