Kusasi Chief in Ashanti Region Shot and Killed by Unknown Assailants

A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at approximately 8:40 PM, when the Kusasi Chief of the Ashanti Region, Abdul-Malik Azenbe, was shot and killed in front of his home at Asawase F-line.

The Chief, who also served as the Kaadi Divisional Area Chief in the Bunduri District of the Upper East Region, was approached by two individuals on a motorbike, one of whom was armed with an AK-47 rifle.

The Chief was taken to Manhyia District Hospital and later referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, visited the deceased’s family to offer condolences and assured them that an investigation had commenced to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
