Kintampo-Tamale Highway Blocked by Articulated Truck

The Kintampo-Tamale highway has been blocked by an articulated truck carrying B5 angle iron after the driver lost control of the vehicle in the Kintampo Waterfalls area.

The incident has stranded drivers and passengers, with frustration mounting among those caught in the gridlock.

The truck’s brakes reportedly failed as the vehicle approached the challenging terrain of the Kintampo Waterfalls area.

Despite the driver’s attempts to regain control, the truck jackknifed across the road due to the weight of the cargo. Eyewitnesses report that the blockage has caused significant delays, with no immediate signs of clearance.

MCE for Kintampo North Municipal, Isaac Donkor, has acknowledged the severity of the situation.

Emergency services are being mobilized to help restore normalcy as quickly as possible. Specialized towing vehicles are needed to move the trailer and its heavy cargo.

Motorists planning to travel on the Tamale route are advised to seek alternative roads or postpone their journeys until the obstruction is cleared.

Authorities are expected to provide further updates as a recovery operation gets underway. The incident is anticipated to cause significant delays well into the evening and potentially beyond.
