Kasoa Highway Robber Sentenced to 20 Years with Hard Labour
The Kasoa Ofankor Circuit Court has sentenced 25-year-old Mohamed Bello to 20 years in prison with hard labour for his involvement in a highway robbery incident.
Bello was arrested by the Central East Regional Police Command in connection with the robbery, which occurred on July 6, 2025, between Gomoa Buduatta Junction and Dabani on the Kasoa-Winneba highway.
During the robbery, the suspects opened fire on a passenger vehicle, injuring four commuters.
Bello was apprehended while attempting to escape with his accomplices, who are currently on the run.
A search conducted on Bello led to the recovery of GH¢3,740.00 in cash, two Samsung smartphones, one Tecno Spark 20, an Itel keypad phone, a power bank, a lady’s purse, five cigarette sticks, a wristwatch, and other weapons.
After thorough investigations, Bello was arraigned before the Ofankor Circuit Court on July 8, 2025.
He pleaded guilty to charges of robbery and was subsequently sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
