Hippopotamus Terrorizes Residents in Tolomedzi, Oti Region
Residents of Tolomedzi, a fishing community in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, are gripped with fear due to the invasion of hippopotamuses from the shores of River Nanum, a tributary of River Oti.
In an engagement with newsmen, many community members shared their harrowing experiences with the hippopotamus.
They said the animals frequently emerge from the river, posing a significant danger to their daily activities.
The residents are worried about their safety and the potential impact on their livelihoods, which largely depends on fishing and farming.
