Gun Battle in Tema: Police Kill 3 Suspected Robbers
A shootout between police and suspected armed robbers in Tema’s Industrial Area resulted in the deaths of three suspects on July 21, 2025.
The Tema Regional Police Command responded to a distress call reporting a robbery in progress, engaging the suspects in a gunfire exchange.
According to police, about ten armed men broke into a warehouse at the Tema Industrial Area.
Officers from the Kpone District Command arrived at the scene and exchanged gunfire with the suspects. Three suspects were fatally wounded and later pronounced dead.
Police recovered the following items from the scene:
– One Bruni Mod foreign pistol
– One locally manufactured double-barreled pistol with two rounds of ammunition
– Eleven live BB cartridges
The bodies of the deceased suspects have been sent to the Police Hospital Morgue for identification and autopsy. Investigations are underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects, some of whom are believed to be injured.
ASP Dzakpasu commended the Kpone District Command officers for their swift and coordinated response, which prevented the robbery from being carried out successfully.
