GTA signs International Partnership to boost Ghana’s Tourism

In the U.S. Virgin Islands,Maame Efua Houadjeto, the CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority had the honor of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Governor Albert Bryan Jr., establishing a strategic framework of cooperation between Ghana and the U.S. Virgin Islands in tourism development, cultural exchange, trade facilitation, and investment promotion, grounded in our shared heritage and mutual economic aspirations.

The agreement was signed during the USVI–Africa Mini Summit at the Westin Beach Resort and Spa, Frenchman’s Reef, in St. Thomas.

This moment symbolizes the strengthening of people-to-people connections and the creation of new pathways for sustainable economic growth between Africa and the diaspora.

As Governor Bryan beautifully expressed, “This memorandum is about more than travel. It is about connection.” Our shared history across the Atlantic now becomes a bridge for opportunity, collaboration, and prosperity.

The Ghana Tourism Authority, remain deeply committed to building meaningful international partnerships that elevate Ghana’s global presence, strengthen diaspora ties, and unlock new opportunities for tourism, trade, and investment.

Today, we reaffirm Ghana’s position as the gateway to Africa and the bridge between heritage and opportunity.
