Government Urged To Privitise Road Construction To Tackle Infrastructural Deficit.
In Ghana and across Africa, there’s a significant infrastructural deficit, particularly in road construction.
The idea of privatizing road construction to tackle this issue has been discussed among governments and development experts.
Whereas successive government has tackled part of the challenge, some Ghanaians believe there should be more effort to tackle the deficit, especially the inner roads.
However, some residents in Obuasi have taken it upon themselves to lead as an example to set the tone for the proposed gesture.
A deplorable road that links Muwuli Junction to Ofori Stadium where the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II intends camping his academy players has seen a face-lift to make access motorable
The road also serves as an alternative root for residents of Anyinam, Bidiem, and other areas in Obuasi West Municipal Assembly.
Speaking to the media Kofi Appianin Ennin, one of the 5 residents who funded the construction, pleaded to the government to release some of the deplorable roads within the country to individuals who are willing to assist, a step he believes will address the road infrastructural deficit in Ghana.
