Ghana’s Cultural Brilliance Shines at 2025 Kente and African Wear Festival in Italy

Reggio Emilia, Italy – The 2025 Kente and African Wear Festival has once again showcased Ghana’s rich cultural heritage to the world.

This program which was Organized by Mr. Francis Kusi, president and founder of the Nsaa Kente Festival Group, this fourth edition brought together the Ashanti and Dagomba communities to celebrate the beauty of African wear.

The festival, which featured traditional dances, music, and attire, was attended by prominent guests, including Mr. Matteo Iori, President of the City Council of Reggio Emilia.

In his speech, Mr. Iori highlighted the importance of African cultural programs in fostering unity between Italian and Ghanaian communities, commending Mr. Kusi for his initiative.

Nana Owusu Bempah, Sompahene of Asante Mampong Beposo, and Obaa Hemaa Maame Serwaah Brakatu, Queen Mother of the Ghanaian community in Reggio Emilia, represented Ghana’s royal heritage at the festival.

The event was a vibrant display of Ghanaian culture, with the Ashanti community performing the traditional Kete dance, a royal expression of rhythm and reverence.

The Dagomba community also showcased their spirited northern beats and dance, energizing the audience.

The festival demonstrated that Ghana’s heritage is not only alive but also global, with each garment telling a story of symbolism, craftsmanship, and cultural pride.

The event was supported by dignitaries from Mondo Insieme (“World Together”), including Mr. Gianluca Grassi, Chiara Greco, and Elena Torreggiani, underscoring the growing recognition of African fashion and culture across European countries.
