GHANA HAS WOEFULLY FAILED IN THE COMBAT OF DRUG ABUSE”….Asanteman Nkosuohene cries.

 

The Nkosuohene of Asanteman Traditional Council, Nana Osei Kwame Kyeretwie has lamented the woeful failure of the country in the combat of drug and other substances abuse among the youth.

According to him, the situation is a National security threat that should not be considered as business as usual.

Nana Osei Kwame Kyeretwie launched an edged call to the Government and all the stakeholders to initiate a pragmatic approach to end the cancer.

Speaking with Oyerepa FM’s Okogyeabour Ocran, Nana bemoaned the illegal importation of these hard drugs such us the Tramadol and the opioids.

During the Courtesy Visit of the Officials from the Willingway Recovery and Rehabilitation Center, Nana Nkosuohene urged the security Posts across the country’s borders to widen their surveillance to control the invasion of the drugs.

Ahead of the upcoming campaign against the abuse of Opioids on the 22nd August in Kumasi, Nana Osei Kwame Kyeretwie commended Madam Lydia Abena Manu and the Willingway Recovery and Rehabilitation centre for such an awareness creation program, advocating for all inclusiveness in such press campaign.
