GH¢67,900 Recovered in Upper Manya Krobo District Assembly Funds Scandal

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Upper Manya Krobo, Hon. Emmanuel Kwesi Lawer, has recovered GH¢67,900 in missing funds from the Assembly’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF).

The funds were allegedly misappropriated by three senior officials: the District Finance Officer (DFO), Accounts Officer, and Revenue Superintendent.

An internal audit and investigation revealed the financial discrepancies, prompting the DCE to invite the officials for questioning.

After recovering the missing funds, the officials refunded the money, with the DFO withdrawing GH¢34,500 from his personal account to complete the reimbursement.

The DCE has pledged zero tolerance for corruption and announced plans for a comprehensive audit to uncover and recover any further losses.

The police are continuing investigations into the matter. The recovered amount has been paid into the Assembly’s account.
