Fire Destroys Vehicle at University of Ghana Campus.
A devastating incident occurred on the University of Ghana campus, where a vehicle was completely destroyed by fire on Friday, July 25, 2025.
The blaze broke out near the Sports Stadium, prompting a swift response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The Legon Fire Station received a distress call at 22:17 hours and dispatched a fire appliance within a minute.
Firefighters arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, with both the engine compartment and interior ablaze.
Thanks to their prompt action, the team managed to bring the blaze under control within four minutes, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties or endangering passersby.
Unfortunately, the vehicle was extensively damaged, with large portions reduced to a charred shell.
No injuries were reported, but the cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are currently ongoing.
GNFS Urges Public to Report Fire Outbreaks
The GNFS is urging the public to promptly report fire outbreaks and to stay away from burning vehicles due to the risk of explosions and exposure to toxic fumes .
