Fatal Accident Claims Life of Unidentified Woman at Aboabo

A tragic accident has occurred at Aboabo in Kumasi, resulting in the death of an unidentified woman. The incident happened around 6:40 AM on the Aboabo-Airport Roundabout Highway, involving a long vehicle transporting electric cables.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman, believed to be around 35 years old, was attempting to cross the road near the Fatima Farida School when she was struck by the truck.

Despite the driver’s efforts to swerve and avoid the collision, the woman was hit and dragged several meters, resulting in her instant death.

Police personnel from the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) responded to the scene and confirmed the woman’s death. The driver and the vehicle are currently in custody at the Airport Police Station pending further investigation.

The woman’s body has been conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and identification.

Eyewitnesses are calling on the government to construct a footbridge in the area to help prevent future accidents.

The area has experienced several accidents over the years, raising concerns about pedestrian safety.
