Christian Mothers’ Association Trains Youth Leaders on Good Governance and Anti-Corruption

The Christian Mothers’ Association (CMA) has organized a training program for its youth members from various arch/dioceses on good governance and anti-corruption.Christian Mothers’ Association Trains.

The training, which was facilitated by resource persons from the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), aimed to educate participants on the importance of transparency and accountability in leadership.

Mr. Andrews Ofori Larbi, the Deputy Regional Director of the NCCE, gave an overview of the District Assembly concept, highlighting its role in promoting grassroots participation in governance.

He emphasized the importance of citizen engagement in decision-making processes and the need for leaders to be accountable to the people.

The training also focused on the harmful effects of corruption on the nation. Participants were educated on the need to abstain from corrupt practices, which have bled the nation’s coffers and led to poverty.

The trainers emphasized that corruption is a major obstacle to development and that it is essential to promote transparency and accountability in governance.

The training is part of the CMA’s effort to empower its youth members, mostly Catholics, to aspire to leadership positions. The belief is that when individuals with morally upright upbringing take on leadership roles, they will perform better and make a positive impact on their communities.

In her opening address, Mrs. Olivia Ansu Amponsah, the Executive Secretary of the CMA, welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of the training.

The National President of CMA, Mother Hannah Essuman, urged participants to take the training seriously, highlighting its benefits for both the participants and the nation.

The training brought together participants from eight arch/dioceses, including:Kumasi,Sunyan, Konongo Mampong,Obuasi,Techiman,Goaso, Wiawso

Each arch/diocese had three representatives, demonstrating the CMA’s commitment to promoting good governance and anti-corruption among its members.

The training concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting good governance and anti-corruption. Participants expressed their gratitude to the CMA and NCCE for the training and pledged to apply the knowledge gained in their communities.
