CHASS Urges Government to Equip Secondary Technical Schools in Oti Region.
The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) in the Oti Region has called on the government to improve educational systems, stem education infrastructures and educational support to equipping secondary technical institutions in the area to enhance the education system.

During a courtesy visit to the Oti Regional Minister, Mr. John Kwadwo Gyapong, CHASS highlighted several challenges facing second-cycle institutions in the region.

Challenges Facing Secondary Institutions
– Infrastructure deficits
– Stalled projects
– Inadequate furniture
– Lack of pick-up vehicles
– Insufficient computers
CHASS emphasized the need for a STEM school to promote science and technology education.

They also expressed concerns about the academic background level of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates admitted to second-cycle institutions.

The members urged the government to address these pressing needs to improve the quality of education in the region.
They also emphasized the need for more non-teaching staff to support school operations.

Hon. John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, assured CHASS that he will engage with the Minister of Education and government to address the challenges facing secondary technical institutions.
He pledged to use his platform to advocate for the necessary support for secondary technical institutions.
