Catholic Youths Empowered to be Agents of Change
The Catholic Diocese of Konongo-Mampong recently held its Diocesan Catholic Youth Congress under the theme “Empowering the Catholic Youth in the Jubilee Year for Synodality and Proclaiming Christ, Hope for the Church and Ghana.”

The event brought together hundreds of young Catholics to celebrate, learn, and renew their commitment to the mission of the Church.
The Diocesan Youth Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Martin Baah, explained that the theme serves as a call to action, reminding young people that they are not only the future of the Church but also an active part of its present.

He emphasized the diocese’s aim to empower the youth through spiritual formation, leadership training, and active participation in Church life.
Fr. Baah encouraged the youth to join various Church movements and societies, such as the Knights and Ladies of the Altar, Christian Mothers Association, and Lectors, to serve God and their community.
“The Church needs you, your energy, your ideas, and your commitment to keep the faith alive for generations to come,” he said.
The Diocesan Youth Public Relations Officer, Miss Belinda, advised the youth to live out the lessons and values learned during the congress in their daily lives.
She encouraged them to be examples of good behavior, discipline, and service, so that others may see their good works and be drawn closer to the Church.
The congress ended with words of encouragement from Church leaders, calling on the youth to continue walking in faith, hope, and charity.
They were reminded that the Church depends on their active participation to carry forward the mission of Christ in Ghana and beyond.
