“Catholic Educator Shares Insights on Innovative Teaching Methods

Rev. Sister Saraphine Ankrah FST of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi recently shared her experience of conducting an in-service training for teachers at a Santa Basic School at Santaso Kurom a surb community of Ayinase in the Nzema in the Western Region.

The training, which was organized by the chief of Santaso Kurom Simon Nana Marfo the chief and his wife, aimed to enhance the teaching skills of the educators.

During the training, Rev Sister Saraphine emphasized the importance of creating a child-centered learning environment, where all pupils feel included and motivated. She advised teachers to set rules together with their students and ensure that they are enforced.

The training also covered topics such as managing classrooms, identifying early signs of impairment in pupils, and improvising learning materials to boost teaching and learning.

Additionally, Rev.Sister Saraphine stressed the need for teachers to care for and encourage their students, and to treat them equally.

The training session included hands-on activities, such as the production of teaching and learning materials, to make classrooms more engaging and interactive for pupils.

Rev.Sister Saraphine’s efforts are expected to have a positive impact on the quality of education in the school.
