“Bridging the Gap: Rev. Fr.Michael Kwaku Boahene Urges Action Against Socioeconomic Segregation”

Rev. Fr. Michael Kwaku Boahene parish priests of St.Theresah Roman Catholic church -Asewase in the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi has issued a powerful call to action, urging society, governments, and chieftaincies to bridge the gap between the poor and the wealthy.

According fr.Michael, socioeconomic segregation is a pressing issue that perpetuates inequality and limits opportunities for those in need.

Rev. Fr. Boahene emphasized the importance of places of worship, such as churches and mosques, in promoting love, oneness, and support for those struggling with poverty.

He encouraged religious leaders to create an environment that fosters unity and inclusivity, rather than perpetuating segregation.

The reverend father stressed the need for concrete action to develop Ghana as a whole, rather than pursuing selfish gains.

He advocated for the creation of more job opportunities, policies that uplift the poor and needy, and factories that require a large labor force, which can provide employment for Ghanaians with little or no formal education.

Rev. Fr. Boahene also called on leaders to demonstrate good will and prioritize the needs of the ordinary man and woman.

He lamented that the lack of patriotism and increasing selfishness among Ghanaians are major concerns that need to be addressed.

The reverend father drew inspiration from Psalm 34:6, which says, “For a poor man cried, and God heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.”

He encouraged Ghanaians to pray and work towards creating a more equitable society, where everyone has access to opportunities and resources.

Rev. Fr. Boahene also touched on the issue of galamsey, which has been a major concern for Ghana’s environment and economy.

He emphasized the need for alternative solutions to address poverty and unemployment, rather than relying on illegal mining activities that harm the environment and the nation.

By working together and taking concrete action, Ghanaianians will create a brighter future for themselves and for generations to come.
