Inspector Ahmed Twumasi Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Murdering Girlfriend
A Ghanaian court has handed down a life imprisonment sentence to Police Inspector Ahmed Twumasi for the murder of his girlfriend, Victoria Dapaah, also known as Maa Adwoa.
The Asokore District Court found Twumasi guilty of shooting Dapaah multiple times with his service pistol at Adum, Kumasi, leading to her death from hemorrhagic shock.
The tragic incident, which occurred on April 20, 2023, was reportedly sparked by Dapaah’s decision to end their relationship, which Twumasi was unhappy about.
Despite clarifications from authorities that Twumasi was alive and undergoing trial, rumors of his death had circulated.
The court’s decision brings closure to a case that has drawn significant public attention in Ghana, highlighting the gravity of the crime and serving as a deterrent to similar offenses.
