Breaking News: Three NAIMOS Officers Confirmed Dead in Accident at Adaase, Obuasi Municipality

A tragic accident has occurred at Adaase in the Obuasi municipality, resulting in the deaths of three officers of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS).

According to reports, two of the officers died on the spot, while the third succumbed to injuries shortly after being rushed to the Obuasi Government Hospital.

Details of the accident are still emerging, but it’s understood that other officers were injured in the incident and are currently receiving medical attention.

The cause of the accident has not been officially confirmed, and investigations are likely underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

This incident comes against the backdrop of recent heightened tensions in the area, particularly with NAIMOS and other security agencies cracking down on illegal mining activities.

Just last week, a joint police-military operation was conducted in the Obuasi municipality, resulting in the arrest of hundreds of residents suspected of involvement in illegal mining.

The Ghana Police Service and other authorities have been working to restore order and protect officials carrying out their duties in the fight against environmental degradation.

Our thoughts are with the families of the deceased officers, and we hope for the speedy recovery of those injured. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available to Noblenews.
