BREAKING: ARMED MEN ATTACK GARU, LEAVING 3 DEAD

A brazen attack was carried out on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) office in Garu, located in the Kusaug area, leaving 3 people dead and others injured.

The incident occurred in the late hours of the morning when a group of four unarmed men, comprising three Fulani and one Mamprusi, stormed the office in search of their target, believed to be the District Manager.

According to eyewitnesses, the gang arrived at the NHIS office and made their way to the Manager’s office then later to the Data office, where they found Mr. Mohammed, a Bissa staff member.

Without hesitation, they shot him, leaving him to his fate. As they exited the office, they encountered another young person, Majid, who was also shot to death. The gunshots sparked panic among pupils of the nearby Garu D/A school.

The headteacher, Mr. Yahaya, a Bissa by tribe, rushed out to ensure the students’ safety, but the fleeing armed gunmen spotted him and shot at him. Unfortunately, Mr. Yahaya joined his ancestors.

The attack has sparked widespread shock and concern in the community, with many calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the attack and is working to identify the perpetrators.
