The Minister assured the unions that the allowance has been fully captured in the 2025 Budget and that necessary processes are underway to ensure its release.

He also commended the unions for proposing the establishment of a dedicated Labour Relations Desk within the Ministry of Finance.
Additionally, the Minister updated the union leaders on ongoing payroll reforms, including an audit being conducted by the Auditor-General.
The audit aims to remove ghost names from the payroll, which could yield substantial savings for the public purse.
The Minister urged the union leaders to support the payroll audit exercise, emphasizing that it is crucial for restoring integrity and fairness in public sector compensation.

The government remains committed to working closely with stakeholders to build a sustainable and accountable public service.
