Bishop Fianu urges new Priests to serve with faith, humility, and integrity.

Two New Priests Ordained in Ho Diocese
The Catholic Diocese of Ho has welcomed two new priests into the ministerial priesthood.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, Bishop Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, ordained Rev. Fr. Akpatsou David Agbegnigan and Rev. Fr. Samuel Perry Abotsi, CSsR, at the St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Ho Kpevele.

In his homily, Bishop Fianu urged the newly ordained priests to serve with unwavering faith, deep compassion, and true humility.

He emphasized the importance of integrity in ministry, encouraging them to become living witnesses of the Gospel.

The Bishop also called on the lay faithful to support the spiritual journey of the new priests through constant prayer and wise counsel.

Bishop Fianu stressed the collective responsibility of the Church to nurture its clergy, saying,

“Together, let us nurture them in love as they labour in the vineyard of the Lord.”

The ordination ceremony drew clergy, religious, lay faithful, and families of the ordinands from across the Diocese.


Rev. Fr. Akpatsou David Agbegnigan hails from St. Joseph Parish, Liati, while Rev. Fr. Samuel Perry Abotsi, CSsR, is a member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) from St. Cecilia Parish, Ho Dome.

The ordination marks a significant milestone in their journey to serve the people of God.
