Bono Region Prepares for 2025 BECE with 24,170 Candidates

The Bono Regional Education Directorate has announced that 24,170 candidates will sit for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the region.

The figure includes candidates registered with both the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the regional education directorate.

According to the Regional Public Relations Officer, Mr. Luke Mensah, 24,109 candidates from 805 public and private schools have been registered by the directorate, comprising 11,774 boys and 12,345 girls.

WAEC has also registered additional candidates, including prison inmates and individuals resitting the exam.

Mr. Mensah urged guardians to provide necessary support to their wards, ensuring they have a calm and focused mindset for the exam.

The education directorate has conducted workshops and sensitization programs for stakeholders to ensure a smooth examination process.

The Regional PRO cautioned against examination malpractices, reminding candidates and invigilators of the severe consequences of such actions.

He expressed optimism that measures are in place to prevent malpractices and ensure a fair and transparent examination process.

The Bono Region is expected to host a successful BECE, with the education directorate working to maintain the integrity of the examination.
