Ashanti Security Chief Denies National Security Involvement in Bekwai Office Lockdown, Points to NDC Footsoldiers

The Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, Captain (Rtd) Kwame Jabari, has clarified that the individuals who stormed and locked the offices of the Forestry Commission in Bekwai, Nkawie, and Offinso are not affiliated with National Security.

Instead, he identified them as footsoldiers of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC)..

Captain Jabari stated, “I can confidently confirm that the individuals who locked the Forestry Commission office at Bekwai were not National Security personnel. They are NDC party loyalists, and I know them personally.”

The incident involved over a dozen armed men, initially believed to be National Security operatives, who forcefully shut down multiple Forestry Commission offices in the Ashanti Region.

The group claimed to be acting on “orders from above,” but their actions have since been discredited by regional security authorities.

Captain Jabari’s statement aims to dispel misstatement and assure the public that official security institutions are not behind the incident.
