“Archbishop Anokye Warns Against False Preachers, Urges Humility“
Kumasi, Ghana – His Grace, Most Rev. Gabriel Justice Yaw Anokye, Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi, has called on Christians to emulate Christ’s humility in their daily lives.
Speaking during his 22years as Catholic Archbishop in Ghana, he served Obuasi Diocese and Kumasi Archdiocese.
As a chief sherepherd, he has contributed to the growth of Ghana Catholic Bishop Conference, Africa and the world at large.
Archbishop Anokye emphasized that Christ’s humility is a model for all to follow.
“Christ was humble, and he humbled himself for humanity. We should be humble like Christ,” he said.
The Archbishop cautioned against following false preachers who prioritize personal gain over spiritual guidance.
“Do not follow men of God who tell you to ‘sow seeds’ before they intercede for you. Don’t fall victim to those who ask for foodstuff before listening to you,” he warned.
Archbishop Anokye reminded congregants that Christ assisted the poor and needy without requesting anything in return.
“Know who you serve and what you want,” he added, urging Christians to stay grounded in their faith.
The thanksgiving mass marked a significant milestone in Archbishop Anokye’s ministry, celebrating 22 years as Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kumasi,Catholic Diocese of Obuasi and world at large.
