A/R: 4 dead in Military Helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom

A tragic helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region has left the aircraft completely destroyed by fire, with at least four people feared dead.

The incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, August 6, 2025, when the helicopter, which regularly operates the Accra–Obuasi route every Wednesday, reportedly crashed into a tree under yet-to-be-determined circumstances.

The Assembly Member for the area, Matthew Baah, confirmed the crash. He revealed that he had been working on his farm when he received a distress call from residents.

“After the crash, everything went silent. Residents who rushed to the scene found the helicopter in flames,” Mr. Baah recounted.

According to him, the wreckage was engulfed in fire and burned beyond recognition. Preliminary assessments suggest that four people may have been on board, based on the dismembered human remains discovered at the crash site. However, the identities of the victims have not yet been confirmed.

Although the cause of the crash is still under investigation, Mr. Baah mentioned that poor weather conditions in the area at the time could have played a role.

Emergency responders and aviation authorities are expected to conduct a full investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash
