23-Year-Old Mother Arrested for Allegedly Dumping Son in Well
A 23-year-old mother, Akua Afriyie, has been arrested for allegedly throwing her four-year-old son into a well in Karlo, a community in the Suaman District of the Western North Region.
The incident has sparked shock and outrage in the community.
According to Eric Armah, the Karlo Electoral Area Assembly Member, an emergency call was received about a child who had fallen into a well. Upon arrival, the child’s lifeless body was discovered floating in the water.
The matter was reported to the Dadieso Police Station, and investigations revealed that the mother may have intentionally caused the child’s death.
The police arrested Akua Afriyie after eyewitness statements and investigations suggested she intentionally threw her son into the well. Initially, she claimed her son had accidentally fallen into the well.
The child’s body has been sent to the Enchi Government Hospital morgue for autopsy as investigations continue.
