21-Year-Old Mobile Money Vendor Shot Dead in Suspected Armed Robbery

A tragic incident has occurred in Ngleshie Amanfro, a suburb in the Ga South Municipality, where a 21-year-old mobile money vendor, Desmond Adzah, was shot and killed on Wednesday, July 9.

The incident happened around 7:00 p.m. as Desmond was returning home after closing his shop.

According to eyewitnesses, unidentified assailants ambushed and shot Desmond multiple times. An eyewitness, Ruben Kumor, recounted that he had spoken to Desmond just moments before the shooting.

Kumor expressed concern over the lack of visible police patrols at night, despite the presence of a nearby police station.

Desmond’s sister, Erica Adzah, suspects that her brother was deliberately targeted by individuals familiar to him. She believes that Desmond may have recognized his attackers, which led to his killing. The family is calling for a thorough investigation into the incident.

The grieving family and concerned residents are demanding improved security measures in the area to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

They are also urging the Ghana Police Service to launch an urgent investigation into the killing.

The police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding Desmond’s death. The incident has raised concerns about security in the area, and residents are hoping for swift action to ensure their safety.
